Veta P. (Hicks) Summers, 82, formerly of New Albany, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Corydon, Indiana.
Veta was born on October 28, 1932 in New Albany, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Summers, and brother, Ronnie Bobbitt.
She is survived by her son, Donald W. Hicks (Neva) of Milltown; brothers, Richard, Emil, James, and Larry Witt and Harvey Bobbitt; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM on Friday, October 2, 2015, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral Service will be at 10 AM on Saturday with burial to follow at Milltown Cemetery in Milltown, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Floyd County Humane Society (P.O. Box 1134, New Albany, IN 47150) or to an animal shelter of the donor's choice.
