Vernon C. Abney, Jr.

Vernon C. "Bud" Abney, Jr., age 75 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015. He graduated from Clark County High School in Kentucky and attended the NHLA Lumber School. Bud was retired from Northland Corporation where he worked for over 38 years as a sales manager. He was a Kentucky Colonel and was an avid Wildcat Fan. He earned his pilot license and enjoyed fishing and golfing. Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Barbara Ann Abney; his parents, Vernon C. Abney, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Ware Abney; and his brother-in-law, Danny Johnson.

Bud is survived by his loving children, Tina Thompson (Tim), Mark Abney, Danna Tharp (Ronnie), Theresa Abney, Chris Abney, Ben Abney, Court Abney (Amy) and Gil Abney; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; siblings, Dallas Abney (Gladys), Dorothy Easterly (Jim), Carl Abney (Ann), Sue Johnson and Darla Abney (Jerry Cox); and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 1-2 pm Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown with Memorial Ceremony to follow at 2pm.
