Vera Smith

Vera Lee Smith passed away on February 6, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on March 18, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Norman and Frances Adele Fisher.

Vera attended Christ the King Grade School, Loretto High School, and the University of Louisville.

Vera enjoyed a long career at Masters’ Supply until she retired.

Vera was known for her kindness and nurturing spirit. She is survived by her loving sons, Stephen Randolph Smith, David Shaw Smith (Sharon), and Michael Bradley Smith (Denise). She also leaves behind her brothers, Dr. Norman S. Fisher and James L. Fisher (Gail), sister-in-law, Carolyn King Fisher, grandson, Jason Payment, along with many nieces and nephews who adored her.

She is preceded in death by her brother, William G. Fisher, her sister-in-law, Jonelle Fisher, and her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Claybrooke Smith.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the caregivers and Hosparus for their compassionate care.

Per Vera's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
