Vera M Blumenberg

Vera M. (Johnson) Blumenberg, 85, of Hopkinsville, KY departed this life on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Bradford Heights Health & Rehabilitation, Hopkinsville, KY of natural causes. A native of Yazoo, Mississippi, she was born September 4, 1935, the daughter of the late Herbert Johnson, Sr. and the late Beanzie (Bostic) Johnson. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Jasper Blumenberg, in Chicago, IL. Together they raised five sons, Rodney, Kenneth, Dale, Roger and Joseph Paul. She was an LPN at Central State Hospital and a member of Life Tabernacle Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Blumenberg; her sons, Rodney Blumenberg and Joseph Paul Blumenberg.

Vera is survived by her loving sons, Kenneth Blumenberg (Karen), Dale Blumenberg (Lucille) and Roger Blumenberg (Delmecia); her brother, Herbert Johnson, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Denice; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Lamb Funeral Home in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the funeral home.

A Going Home celebration will be also held at 1pm on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky (in Middletown), with visitation from 12pm until time of service.
