Vanessa Bald, was born December 1, 1953 in Louisville,Kentucky. She was raised in Berrytown.
She received her early education at Saint Aloysius Catholic School and later at Eastern High School, where her claim to fame was being the first black cheerleader.
She was a outspoken, strong, independent, resourceful and spiritual woman with a big heart.
She loved her children, her family, astrology, writing poetry, luther vandross, chocolate covered cherries and most of all her music. Music was her love language and lead her to become the jamming DJ "Midnight Lady" hosting nights in the clubs around Louisville and gatherings in the park.
Her eyesight prevented her from doing many things but never prevented her from seeing the good in people.
During her life of traveling throughout Kentucky, Georgia and California she was a friend to the friendless, a helping hand or home to the homeless, a counselor to the downhearted and an uplifting voice to the discouraged.
When Louisville could not contain her big personality any longer, she sadly left behind her family and friends and headed west to California where she lived the final years of her life by the ocean that she loved so much, with the stars as her roof and the sun and moon as her light.
She died on April 14, 2022 from injuries sustained in a car accident in San Diego California.
She leaves to carry on her legacy children Carla Mike (Fred) Natasha Davis (Chris), Jason, James, Dominique, Nina and Jessica. Grandchildren Kayla, Kevon, Audra, Chris Jr., Dominique, Damien, Dezmond and great grandchildren Landen and Kenlea.
She leaves to mourn her loss Mother Neanie Bald, Aunt Lula McCoy Siblings Renee, Lucy, Angela, Louie, David (Charon), Maria, her baby sister Stacey, countless family and all of her dear friends.
A memorial service will be will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville) on Friday, May 6, 2022, beginning at 2:00PM.
