Urldine Best

Urldine Best was born on April 11, 1940 in Hart County, Kentucky to the late John Douglas Best and Minnie Bell Thornton Best. She was preceded in death by her brother Mitchell Ray Best and sister, Minnie Maxcine Bald. Urldine answered the call to her eternal resting place on December 4, 2020, at the age of 80.

Urldine moved to Louisville, Kentucky with her family in April 1950. She was self employed for forty years, retiring in 1994. Urldine accepted Christ at an early age. She later joined First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown under the leadership of Rev. Thurmond Coleman, Sr.

Urldine was a girly girl, who would not leave the house without her lipstick, jewelry and her hats. She enjoyed bowling, listening to music and spending time with her family. She got the most joy celebrating the holidays with family. She enjoyed giving holiday treats to the children in the family. She enjoyed when she had company stop by and visit. She could always carry on a great conversation.

Urldine leaves to cherish her legacy two siblings, Emmer Best Kinnard and John Thomas Best; four children, Peggy Joyce, Michael Raymond, Wanda Lynn and Anita MaShall (Glenn); three bonus children Douglas (Anne), Jeff (Emily) and Anne Proffitt. Eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to the current Covid-19 guidelines all services will be private and she will be laid to rest at Berrytown Cemetery.
