Tunesia C. Shobe-Becker was born on May 1, 1974 in Harlan, KY to Jacqueline D. Becker and John Mason. She moved to Lexington and later relocated to Louisville, which became her new home. While in Louisville, she was known for spending time with her cousins, aunts and uncles; they were all close in age allowing her to feel as if they were more like brothers and sisters.
She attended Fern Creek and Southern High School, where she was a member of the Marching Band. She made lifelong friendships with many people whom she was still close with and had great relationships with them to this very day. Sis Tunesia worked as a supervisor at UPS for 13 years and resigned in 2019.
Sis Tunesia was united in holy matrimony to Shawn D. Shobe on July 19, 2003. Later renewing their marriage vows on February 6, 2016 strengthening not only their love, but their relationship with Christ.
She was a faithful member of the Destined Ministries Intl later becoming the Cleaning Auxiliary Leader as well as a member of the Kitchen Crew where she served for many years.
Sis Tunesia was a devoted wife, sister, mother, neighbor, grandmother & friend to many. After a 7 year battle with cancer, her wishes were to be home surrounded by her husband, children and family, at the time when God called her home.
Preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry & Margaret Ford and Earl & Macy Becker.
Survivors left to mourn is her devoted husband, Shawn D. Shobe; 3 daughters: Jasmine (Paul), Terryn, and Shavon; 2 sons: Xavier and Tynan (Joni); 4
Grandchildren: Remy, Drew, Raven, and Atalaya; parents Jacqueline Denise Becker and John Mason; father in law Bennie ShobeSr. (Liz); siblings: one brother David Becker; sister in law Tiffany; 4 brother in laws: Bennie Jr, Robert Sr, Orlando and Reggie (Jennifer); aunts Darlene (Luther), Kenya, and Joy (Steven); Uncle Omar; Uncle Tommy & Auntie Nellie, one nephew, extended family members, friends and church family who loves her dearly.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Dr.), and from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Sojourn East Church (2501 Rudy Ln). Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood.
