In Loving Memory of Truman Bell Hogue

January 11, 1946 – November 2, 2025

Truman Bell Hogue, 79, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 11, 1946, to Lillie Mae and Frank Monty Hogue, he lived a full life marked by laughter, loyalty, and an undeniable love for the game of pool. A professional pool player by trade and a competitor by spirit, he was known for his steady hand, sharp eye, and humor that left a lasting impression on everyone who met him. After retiring from the Indiana Laborers Union in 2009 he spent a lot of his time at Rack 66 helping set up pool tables on service runs and spending time with his friend Bryan. He loved to work in his garden where he grew the best tomato’s. He was also inducted into the One Pocket Hall of Fame in 2005 and soon after began offering instructional billiard lessons at the Bank Shot and running various pool tournaments.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Woodie; his sister, America; and his son-in-law, Bruce Arnette.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Lesa, who stood beside him through every chapter of life. Together they built a beautiful family that was Truman’s greatest pride and joy—children Sheila, Sherri, Brandon, and Justin (Taylor)—each of whom carries his warmth, humor, and strength in their hearts.

Truman was the proud grandfather of Josh, Ryan, Kyrstan (Aaron), Airyl (Matheo), Bryson, Gracen, Gabriella, Skylar, Arya, and Ezra. His great-grandchildren—Braydon, Aubree, Taytum, and one precious little girl on the way—brought endless smiles and joy to his life.

He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends Bryan and Kathi Roberts and Kevin and Sondra Carpenter, who were like family. His circle of friends was wide and loyal, a reflection of the kindness and good humor he carried with him everywhere.

Whether it was behind a pool table, on the porch telling stories, or laughing with family and friends, he made everyone feel welcome. His presence was one of comfort, his advice honest, and his heart full of love. He will be remembered not just for his talent with a cue stick, but for his dedication to his family, his easygoing nature, and the way he made every person he met feel like an old friend.

A celebration of Truman’s life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funerals and Receptions- Southwest Louisville Chapel where family and friends will gather to share memories, stories, and laughter in his honor.

Though he may have racked his final game here on earth, his spirit plays on—steady, true, and forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
