Truman "John" Brian, 74, of Clarksville, Indiana, began his afterlife on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Known by many as Johnny or J.B., John held various positions within the automotive parts industry and was thought of as a natural born salesman. John spent time living in Evansville, Indiana; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Atlanta, Georgia; and finally settling and retiring in southern Indiana. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. John also enjoyed creating art out of driftwood and also fishing along the North Carolina coast.
He was born on April 23, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky. John was preceded in death by his parents, Truman Basham and John and Mary (Anthony) Brian. John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alaine (Spies) Brian; sons, Steven Brian (Julie), Scott Brian (Sarah), and Jason Brian; sister, Maria Clance; grandchildren, Kaelin, Ethan, Isabela, Colin, Sawyer, and Veda; and best friend, Frank Grooms.
Cremation was chosen following John's wishes and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
