Torchye G. Parsley

Torchye G. (Robinson) Parsley, 81, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Torchye retired from the Jay C Food Store in English, Indiana after many years of employment and later worked at St. Jude's Call Center in New Albany. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the wonderful staff at Maple Manor.

She was born on July 3, 1942 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late William "Lloyd" Robinson and Naomi (Blankenship) Alford. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Parsley.

Torchye is survived by her son, Jimmy (Debbie) Parsley; daughter, Jane (David) Whobrey; sisters, Teena (Eddie) Halbig, Toni Rake, and Teala (Gary) Trent; grandchildren, Brandon (Megan) Parsley, Eric (Janelle) White, Evan White, Tyler Whobrey, and Scotty (Joy) Asbury; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Parker, Carson, and Tanner White, Sophia, Stella, and Serena Parsley, Kyle, Alexis, and Kenna Asbury; great-great-grandchild, Levi; and many nieces.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:30 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Torchye's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
