Tonya Michelle Ruzanka, age 56 of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026. Tonya was born February 17, 1970 in Louisville Ky. to Michael McCardwell (Carol) and Sheila Cox (Stephen). Tonya built a life centered around hard work, dedication, and deep love for her family. She proudly owned and operated an event venue in Eminence, Kentucky, where she created meaningful spaces for others to celebrate life’s most special moments. Prior to that, she worked at Ford Motor Company on and off since 1994, where she built a respected and lasting career.Tonya was widely recognized as an expert in change control, admired for both her exceptional skill and tireless work ethic. She had a remarkable ability to accomplish in just a few hours what might take others an entire day—never sacrificing quality. She was deeply committed to her team and was the trusted “go-to” analyst during the most critical moments of production support.Beyond her professional accomplishments, Tonya will be remembered for her strength, dedication, and the love she poured into her family and community. Her presence, guidance, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Tonya leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Eddie; her beloved children Sophia, Abby, Jack, Josh, Jaylea, Nash and Bo; father, Michael McCardwell (Carol); mother, Sheila Cox (Stephen); in-laws, Rosie and Donnie Ruzanka; siblings, Elizabeth Cox, Erin LeMay (Russ), Stephen Cox (Crystal), Sean McCardwelland Megan Vissing (Tanner); and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. An additional visitation will be from 9:30am until 11am on Friday, April 24th at Chapel in the Woods, 1407 Moser Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40299. A celebration of Tonyas life will be there at 11am on Friday with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery, Crestwood, Kentucky.
