Tony Ricardo Kinnaird

Tony R. Kinnaird, 65, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018.

He was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on June 21, 1953, to the late Ruth Anne (Kinnaird) Bonner and was raised by his grandparents, Henry and Naomi Kinnaird. He was a talented athlete and graduated from Providence High School. Tony received a basketball scholarship from the University of Louisville under Coach Denny Crum. At 6'6", Tony had a beautiful smile, a great positive attitude, and a playful spirit that was contagious to those around him. During his freshman year, his teammates called him "Jumpin' Kinnaird." After graduation he stayed another year at U of L as a graduate assistant coach and achieved a Master's Degree in Sociology. He then moved to Lexington and worked in insurance before eventually moving back to Indiana.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Nikki Kinnaird; siblings, Marianne Bonner, John Bonner, and Thomas Bonner (Gyra); grandchildren, Giania and Henry; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to DeMorris Jenkins and the staff of Riverview Village, especially Lisa Smith who will always hold a special place in our hearts. Also, to the University of Louisville, Phillip Bond, Roger Burkman, Tony Branch, Billy Harmon, Junior Bridgeman, Bill Olsen, Denny Crum, and Wade Houston: Thank you for all the love and support; and to all his family that pitched in during Tony's time of need.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
