Tony Allen Goodhue

Tony Allen Goodhue, 74, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away in peace at his home on May 20, 2021, after a courageous fight with cancer.

He was born on October 6, 1946 in New Albany to William Goodhue and Nellie (Coomer) Goodhue Barton. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by brothers, William, Joe, Jackie, and sisters, Elizabeth and Lu Barbara Jean.

Tony is survived by his former wife, mother to his children, euchre partner in crime, and dearest companion of 56 years, Barbara Goodhue; children, Mechelle Basile, Todd Goodhue, both of New Albany, and Carrie Eastburn of Tampa, Florida. Tony was the proud papaw to Kayla and Ryan Basile, Whitney Goodhue, Joshua Eastburn, Chelsea Goodhue, Brooklyn Goodhue, and Carsten Scaggs. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, siblings, Lyndon Barton and Vera Cooper; as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Amongst many other interests, Tony loved his family and always provided them with humor and laughter. He lifted many spirits throughout his path, may he now rest in the arms of Jesus.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Wednesday after 9:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Tony will be laid to rest privately at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
