Tommie Jay Thompson, 71, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017. He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. Tommie was a 1965 graduate of Desales High School. He loved basketball and music and enjoyed rosary making.
He was born on December 23, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Jake D. Thompson, Jr., and Mary Ann (Cheney) Thompson.
Tommie is survived by his siblings, Linda Paine (Nick) and Mark Thompson (Karla); nieces and nephews, Nikki Cornett, Abbi Locke (Bryan), Konner Thompson, and Spencer Thompson; five great-nieces and -nephews; uncle, Jack Cheney; and a host of many cousins and other family members.
After cremation, a Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1000 North Beckley Station Road, Louisville, Kentucky. Tommie will be laid to rest privately in the Columbarium at Cave Hill Cemetery.
