Timothy Edward Nitzken

December 28, 1984 — November 30, 2020

Timothy Edward Nitzken age 35 of Louisville Kentucky returned to the arms of his loving and merciful Heavenly Father on November 30, 2020 after succumbing to complications resulting from sudden brief illness. Tim was born in Shreveport Louisiana on December 28, 1984 and was eagerly welcomed into the family of Tom and Cyndi Nitzken who received their healthy 10 lb 8 ounce baby boy with open arms and much joy 2 days after his birth. Tim's early years were spent in Shreveport Louisiana and then in Orlando Florida prior to moving back to Louisville with his family when he was 11 years old. Tim attended St. Agnes Catholic School, Saint Xavier High School, and the University of Kentucky. He loved sports and was a devoted fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. He loved the outdoors and nature. He had several pet snakes while growing up. He hiked with friends on the Appalachian Trail and Red River Gorge. Tim worked in the restaurant business in Louisville and California, then returned home to Louisville and eventually started his own residential remodeling business. He had a passion for woodworking, designing and building custom furniture, carpentry, plumbing, ceramic tile work, and electrical work. He fabricated his own lumber from trees. He particularly loved working with cedar trees. He was a strong and resourceful problem solver and had an impressive ability to research for answers and come up with solutions. He enjoyed planting and gardening with his mother. He was physically strong from working on his impressive construction and renovation projects, and he loved to work with his mother and dad around the house on various repair and home improvement projects. He was also a meticulous and enthusiastic numismatist with an extensive knowledge of coins. Tim was a caring person who loved other people sincerely and deeply. He never failed to tell his family that he loved them. He made a host of friends over the years and willingly helped many people with their problems. People enjoyed spending time with him. He will be remembered fondly and will be sorely missed by his family and his many good friends.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving parents Tom and Cyndi Nitzken, his brother James Nitzken, stepsister Tina Hopper, grandparents Joan and Syl Nitzken, uncles and aunts Joe and Kate Nitzken, John and Sundi Nitzken, Mike and Pam Nitzken, Mary Nitzken, Kathy Francis, Bill Edwards, Bob and Cindy Edwards, David and Lori Edwards, and a host of cousins and friends. The family would like to thank all of the people who have been so kind and helpful during this time and would like to thank those who knew Tim and loved and helped him.

Due to CDC pandemic restrictions, services will be private. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery 1600 Newburg Road in Louisville.

Charitable donations in honor of Tim can be sent to Dare to Care Food Bank at 5803 Fern Valley Road, Louisville Kentucky 40228 or Southeast Christian Missions at https://www.southeastchristian.org/missions.
