Timothy "Tim" Miyahara, 62, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 5, 2025. Born on December 27, 1962, in Longmont, Colorado, Tim was the cherished son of Wayne Edward Newman and the late Keiko Miyahara.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherry Miyahara; his beloved daughters, Alexandra P. Miyahara and Maddie M. Miyahara; his father, Wayne Edward Newman; his sisters, Hope Nesbitt and Kathleen DeBenedetti; and his brother, TJ Newman.
A proud U.S. Air Force veteran and graduate of the University of Southern California, Tim lived with a passion and curiosity that enriched every experience. He was an avid fisherman, a nature enthusiast, and a talented painter who found beauty in the world around him. Whether traveling, creating art, or diving into a new book, he embraced life with open arms and a sharp mind.
Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Tim had a unique ability to lift the spirits of everyone he met. His laughter, wisdom, and kind-heartedness left a lasting impact on family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Saturday, May 10, from 12 PM to 4 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150.
