April 9, 1928 — February 5, 2017

Tilden Thompson Jr., 88, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on February 5, 2017. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for several years. Tilden retired from South Central Bell and was a former owner of First Street Hardware. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #5.

Tilden was born on April 9, 1928, in Jefferson County, Kentucky to the late Tilden and Mary (Rust) Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Thompson; infant daughter, Kathy Louise; sister, Louise Orender; grandson, Kevin Lawrence Kleier; and his son, Michael "Mike" Thompson.

Tilden is survived by his daughters, Donna Liebert (Bill) and Sherry Bowman (Joe); grandchildren, Christie Blain (Kelly), Kim Neafus, Brandon Liebert (Alicia), Greg Liebert, Randy Kleier (Amanda), and Angela Liebert; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). His Funeral Ceremony will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery (4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213).
