Thomas Lee Young

Thomas Lee Young, age 62 of Louisville, Kentucky, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 28, 2019. Thomas was the fourth child of eight born on August 27, 1956 in Pewee Valley, Kentucky to the late Lewis Young Sr. and Emma Lee (Pope) Young. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Young Powers.

Thomas confessed his faith at an early age. He attended St. Aloysius Catholic School and Eastern High School. He worked many years as a Caregiver for Central State Hospital. He never had children of his own but was overjoyed to be a stepfather to Erica Ford-Glynn, Zachary Ford and Audrey Ford (deceased).

Thomas was a dedicated son, brother, uncle, friend and an avid Louisville Cardinals Fan. He was their biggest cheerleader! He loved spending time with his family and friends watching Louisville basketball and football games.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory, sisters; Darlene (Marshall) Firman, Ruth (Arthur) Ritchie, Sandra Taylor, Wilda (James) McDuffy, Suzanne (Adrian) Durham; brother, Lewis Young Jr; host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be 3 pm to 6 pm Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, and on Monday, February 4th from 9am to 1pm at First Baptist Church of Anchorage, 11500 LaGrange Road, Louisville, KY. 40223. A celebration of Thomas' life will be 1pm at the church, with burial to follow in Berrytown Cemetery.

In honor of Thomas, the family requests to please wear black and red to services. The family would like to acknowledge a special thanks to First Baptist Church Anchorage and all who called, texted and lifted them up in prayer.
