Thomas Edwin Sellmer

Thomas Edwin Sellmer, Sr., 81, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. He was the past president and CEO of the McCullouch Fire Department. Tom also was the past president for the Jeffersonville Jr. Chamber of Commerce, past Chairman of the Board and Chaplain of Indiana Volunteer Fireman's Association and a JCI Senator #14563 Indiana state past president.

He was born on September 8, 1937, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Lawrence and Mildred (Lewis) Sellmer. Tom was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Bette" (Troxel) Sellmer.

Tom is survived by his sons, Tom, Jr. (Karen), Dale (Kelley), Keith (Kristy), and Jim (Katie) Sellmer; grandchildren, Nathan, John (Reece), Jill (Jordan), Madilyn (Chris), Jordan, Catherine, and Alicia (Alex); and 10 great-grandchildren.

A reception of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a firefighter memorial taking place at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday after 12:00 p.m. with a memorial service and military honors taking place at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home.
