Thomas Pius McNulty, Sr., 79, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2019. He retired from the United States Army after proudly serving his country post-Korean War and during the Vietnam War. Tom was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a past Grand Knight, and long-time member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was the founder of the Karlsruhe Racing Association in Karlsruhe, Germany, a member of the Sunny Memories RV Club Chapter 19, and an avid fan of the Louisville Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was born on May 15, 1940, in Carrolltown, Pennsylvania, to the late Holden "Sam" and Amber (Frye) McNulty. Tom was also preceded in death by his brother, Sam McNulty.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Judith (Kinney) McNulty; son, Thomas McNulty, Jr. (Beth Harned); daughter, Carolyn Berry (Todd); siblings, Margaret "Peg" Shero, Richard "Dick" McNulty, and Joy Patterson (Denny); sister-in-law, Pauline McNulty; grandchildren, Thomas McNulty III (Megan Greer), Geoffrey McNulty (Sarah Coulter), Rachel Ali (Asaad), Emily Rigsby (Trevor), and Matthew John Guy Berry; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Caleb, Caleigh, and Hadley; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Avenue, New Albany) with burial and military honors to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
