Thomas Lynch, aged 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2026. Born on March 21, 1958, in Fort Benning, Georgia, to William and Elizabeth (Cahoe) Lynch, Thomas lived a life enriched by his dedication to family, education, and community.
Thomas cherished his roles as a father and grandfather, finding great joy in the time spent with his loved ones. Throughout his career, he served as a coach for JCPS, where he shared his passion for sports with many young athletes, particularly through football. His commitment to education and personal development extended beyond coaching; he was also a personal trainer and proudly competed in bodybuilding, held the max bench press weight for many years in his weight class for Jefferson County. Additionally, Thomas had a love for world travel, embracing the opportunities to explore and learn from different cultures.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and those whose lives he touched with his warmth and spirit.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, William B. Lynch and Elizabeth Ann Durall. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Stacy (Randy) Harris, grandchildren Christian and Cheyenne Harris, and his siblings Mark (Yoshimi) Lynch, William "Billy" (Louise) Lynch, Steve (Helene) Lynch, Connie (David) Ferguson, and Tammy Linnig. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the same location.
Friends and family are invited to share memories and leave messages of condolence in the guestbook to honor Thomas’s lasting legacy.
