Thomas Carl Dunlap, 71, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his home. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 11, 1945 to the late William and Lucille Dunlap. He was a veteran in the United States Army and was retired from The Army Reserves as a aircraft mechanic and operator of heavy equipment. He was an avid Ohio Buckeye fan. He spent many weekends officiating pewee and high school football games. Recently he enjoyed working part time at E-town Auto Auction. When he wasn't working he was watching M*A*S*H* and enjoying his Pepsi.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy "Missy" Dunlap and siblings, William Dunlap, Joyce Dunlap, Carol Mason, Pat Henley and Dave Dunlap.
Thomas is survived by his beloved children, Lisa Loar, Samantha (James) Bobak and Scott Dunlap; grandchildren, Cris (Jennifer) Loar, Patrick Loar, Tabetha Paulun, Kyle Hurley, Kaitlyn Dunlap, Lauren Dunlap and Robert Dunlap; his dear friend and the mother of his children, Cheryl Dunlap; and a host of other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be conducted Friday, July 7, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
A gathering to celebrate his life will also be conducted on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. at the Erie VFW Post, 1944 Erie Road, Erie, Michigan 48133.
