Theresa Rose Glenn - Johnson, a beloved caregiver, devoted wife, cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother, was born on September 29, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her journey through life came to a poignant close on May 16, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.
For over thirty remarkable years, Theresa dedicated herself to the noble profession of nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), embodying the essence of compassion and care. Her colleagues and patients alike relished her gentle spirit and unwavering commitment, as she often went beyond the call of duty to uplift those in need. Theresa's heart was an open vessel, overflowing with love for her family and her God, defining her character and illuminating the lives of all who had the pleasure to know her.
An ardent enthusiast of treasures from the past, Theresa cherished moments spent watching "Antique Roadshow," reveling in her fervent passion for collecting coins, old costume jewelry, and vintage dolls. These interests reflected her appreciation for history and the intricate stories woven into every unique item, paralleling her own life story that was rich and beautifully complex.She could also be found watching "Jeopardy" and reading Steven King Novels.
Above all else, Theresa’s greatest joy was her family, her most significant accomplishment in a life well-lived. She was the steadfast anchor and guiding light for her loved ones, nurturing their dreams and aspirations with grace and understanding. She shared her life with her loving husband, Elvin W. Johnson, for an enduring forty-six years, forming a partnership that inspired all around them. Together, they cultivated a family filled with love and laughter.
Theresa is survived by her devoted children: Roosevelt Barner and his wife Jamie, Sandra Dilligard and her husband Rufus, Theresa Johnson and her husband Hernandez, and Lucas M. Glenn. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, including Roosevelt D. Barner, Lyric Robinson and her husband Kenneth, Anthony Helton Jr., Elijah L. Johnson, and Jeremiah G. Johnson. In addition, her great-grandchildren, Amiyah R. Evans, Kameron J. Evans, and Myrical L. Robinson, carry forward her legacy of love.
In her absence, her siblings, Jerilyn Glenn, Damian Glenn, and Yvette Sims, will carry her memory in their hearts, alongside a host of family and friends who were fortunate enough to experience her boundless spirit.
Theresa is at rest with those who preceded her in death, including her father, Raymond Glenn; her mother, Sandra Hughley Glenn; her brother, Walter L. Glenn; and her granddaughter, Harmony R. Huggins. They welcome her with open arms and joyous hearts.
A celebration of Theresa’s extraordinary life will take place at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Southwest Louisville. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on May 31, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM.
