Theodore Lewis Hayes

Theodore Lewis "Ted" Hayes, 76, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Ted was a member of the Calvary Road Baptist Church in New Albany and liked working with his hands by gardening and woodworking. He enjoyed serving in the church and telling others about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was born on March 4, 1944, in Chelsea, Indiana, to the late Harold and Gaudy (Lacefield) Hayes. Along with his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his brother, Howard Hayes.

Ted is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Hayes; children, Teresa Hayes, Susan Hayes, Sarah Hayes, Rachel (Carlus) Cox, and Rebecca Hayes; stepdaughter, Debra (John) Finn; siblings, Mary Wilson, Carol Rosenbloom, and Clifford (Pam) Hayes; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane) and will continue at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Calvary Road Baptist Church (3795 St. Joseph Rd, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church with burial to follow at the South Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
