Terry William Thom, 81, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Monday afternoon, June 6, 2016. He was a United States Army veteran and the owner of TW Thom Construction, Inc. Terry was the past president of the Southern Indiana Home Builders Association and former member of the Floyd Memorial Hospital Board, the Floyd County Planning Commission, and the Floyd Co. Park and Recreation Department. He was also a member of Trinity UMC in New Albany.
He was born on June 7, 1934 in Louisville to the late Alexander and Josephine (Metzger) Thom. Terry was also preceded in death by his brother, Steven Thom.
Terry is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Jane (Catlin) Thom; children, Terri Lynn Zoubul, Sarah Lilly (Pat), Billy Thom; grandchildren, Billy, Alex, Catlin Lilly, Taylor Zoubul, Kyla and Lilly Thom; great-grandchildren, Destini and Daffanie Blair; sister-in-law, Carol Thom; niece, Stephanie Reid (Paul); and nephew, Joe Thom (Stacey).
Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9 AM. His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
