Terry W. Tyler, Jr., affectionately known as "TW" or "Dub," passed away peacefully in Louisville, Kentucky, on July 3, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on November 7, 1981, in Louisville, Terry was a devoted son, loving father, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Terry's life was characterized by his passions and interests. A fervent supporter of the University of Louisville, he exhibited a deep-rooted love for sports and shared his enthusiasm as an avid Rams fan while they were in St. Louis. He relished the joy of living life to the fullest surrounded by family and friends. Music also played an essential role in his life; he enjoyed mixing music, often sharing these moments with close companions.
Terry took immense pride in his only son, Jackson Tyler, cherishing every moment they had together. His legacy is carried on through Jackson, who will remember his father not just for his love but also for the spirit of fun and camaraderie he brought into their lives.
He leaves behind his son, Jackson Tyler; beloved mother, Karen Tyler; and a sister, Cynthia Tyler Porter, who is married to Frank. Terry's legacy continues within his family, including his nephews Timothy Tyler and Jayden Porter, and his niece Brandi Tyler. He was also a proud uncle to his great nieces, Kiyah and Madison, and held dear relationships with many aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Terry W. Tyler, Sr., as well as his grandmothers, Bobbie Eagle and Bessie Tyler, and his grandfather, Arthur Tyler. Their memories will forever remain with him, and the love they shared will continue to resonate within his family.
A Visitation honoring Terry's life will be held on July 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM, both at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243.
