Terry L. Rupp, age 78, passed away on Monday, July 13, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. He had a several year-long battle with Dementia and Prostate Cancer. He was a native of Pennsylvania and was born and raised in Port Carbon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and niece.

He is survived by his wife Teresa of 52 years; nephew, Derek Pogirski (Betsy Sundholm) of Ypsilanti, MI, and niece, Kristin Ness (Eric) of Ann Arbor, MI. He's also survived by his bonus family; 2nd mother, Mary Vance of Vienna, VA; sisters-in-laws, Cathy Kidd and Jenny Massie (Mosi) of Reston, VA; Becky Hall of Dunn Loring, VA. Marianne Collins (Jeff) of Fredericktown, OH; brothers-in-law Morgan Vance (Betty) of New Albany, IN; and Chris Vance (Chong Hui) of Elk Grove, CA. He's also survived by several nieces and nephews-in-law.

He is a Viet Nam War Army Veteran serving from November 1966 to May 1969. He began his Government career with the FBI in the fingerprint ID department and moved on to be employed by the Federal Protective Service Police for 30 years retiring in October 1997. Most of his career was spent in Washington, D.C. He's a 1978 graduate of UofL earning a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He also earned an Associate's Degree from Jefferson Community College and a Master's Degree from George Washington University in Washington D.C. in Criminal Justice. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive. His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Terry's honor be made to The Alzheimer's Association , The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association.
