Terry Kim Jackson (Ironside/ Uncle Pirate) of New Albany, passed away peacefully on Monday April 27, 2026, at the age of 69. Born to Carl Jerome Jackson and Sheryl Joann Taylor of Borden on February 12, 1957, at Clark memorial.
Kim was known for his larger-than-life spirit and the way he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Though he spent much of his life in a wheelchair, he never allowed it to define him. His presence, humor, and strength filled every room he was in.
Kim found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved his CB radios, a bag of Doritos, an ice-cold Pepsi in a glass bottle, chocolate shakes from Arby’s, and his favorite red gummies. Those who knew him will always remember these small things—and the big personality behind them.
He had a unique way of making people feel special, often with humor and heart. He loved deeply and will be remembered for the connections he built and the memories he created.
In his final moments, Kim found peace in his faith. While at the hospital, he was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, surrounded by Kay, Whit, Lisa, and Greg. This moment brought comfort to those who were with him and to all who loved him.
Kim is survived by his sisters, Ronna Vermillion(Sellersburg, IN); Kay (James) Whitaker( New Albany); and Lisa (Greg) James(Elizabeth IN); along with five nieces, three nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews who will carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Jerome Jackson; his mother, Sheryl Joann Taylor (Borden); and his brother, Kevin Jackson of New Albany, Carla Hentrup of New Albany, Connie Farrington of Milton Florida, Cathy Jackson baby Borden Indiana.
