Terry Wayne Glidewell, 74, passed away on March 22, 2026 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.
He was born on February 24, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Paul and Vivian Glidewell. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Roger Glidewell.
Terry grew up in Clarksville, Indiana, and graduated from Clarksville High School, Class of 1971. He was a proud serving veteran of the United States Navy. Terry went on to receive his commercial drivers license and proudly drove a semi until his retirement. Being a semi-truck driver gave him the opportunity to travel all over the country. He had a passion for music which showed in his love for country music, the Grand Ole Opry, and Elvis. Throughout his life, he was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Sellersburg, and found peace and meaning through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Terry was also a huge fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball team and never missed a game. Among his many talents was an exceptional ability to build nearly anything he set his mind to. The same care and devotion he put into everything he built were equally reflected in the love and compassion he showed for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Glidewell; two children, Michael Glidewell (Danielle Munday), Angela Connelly (Edward Connelly); step-daughter, Paula Hope (Kevin Hope); step-sons, Michael Williamson and Emmett Williamson (Patrick Dukes); grandchildren, Aiden Connelly, Evan Connelly; step-grandchildren Katelyn Harris, Kristyn Harris (Ariel Harris); two step-great-grandchildren, Liam Kaler and Easton Mercer; brother, Steve Glidewell; and two nephews, Cody and Landon Glidewell.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, at First Baptist Church of Sellersburg (7912 Hwy 311, Sellersburg, IN).
