Terrance Eugene Sklodoski, better known as Terry, was born on September 30, 1938, in La Porte, Indiana, and passed away on November 21, 2025.
Terry spent his childhood in South Bend, Indiana. Later, he proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, completing a commendable 20 years of service. His military commitment exemplified his strong character and sense of duty, qualities that he carried with him throughout his life. In addition to his military service, Terry was actively involved in his community and faith. He volunteered for the RSVP program and was a dedicated member of St. John Paul II in Sellersburg, where he contributed his time and energy to further the principles of his Catholic faith. His devotion earned him the titles of Tennessee Squire and Kentucky Colonel, recognitions that reflect his standing in the community and the respect he garnered throughout his life. Terry loved to travel and visited all 50 state capitals, all while never missing Mass on Sundays.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jinny Fetz Sklodoski. He is also survived by his son, David (Barbara) Sklodoski; daughter, Lori Sklodoski; step-son, Chuck Williams; step-daughter, Dana (Jeff) Kaps; along with an impressive family legacy of 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. His is also survived by his sister, Carol (Dave) Warren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav Sklodoski and Rosemary Potts Dowell; his sons, Tom Sklodoski and Rob Sklodoski; his brothers, Larry Sklodoski and Jerry Sklodoski; and the mother of his children, Joan Sklodoski.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Traditions at Hunters Station and Interim Hospice for their amazing care during this difficult time.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (2253 W St Joe Rd, Sellersburg) with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.
