Teresa Gail Merritt

Teresa Gail Merritt, 68, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026. Gail was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Gran to her beloved grandchildren. She had a passion for gardening which was evident in her beautiful landscaping. An avid homemaker, she took pride in her spotless house. Gail enjoyed spending time on her computer playing Farmville and she had a fondness for Starbucks coffee. Most importantly, Gail cherished her family. She will be remembered for her selfless nature and devotion to taking care of others. Gail will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on November 22, 1957 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Homer and Bonnie (Ivey) Nix. She is preceded in death by her father, Homer Nix; mother, Bonnie Lou Nix; husband, Steven Merritt; and daughter, Katherine Merritt.

Gail is survived by her loving family, son, Lucas Aaron Merritt; daughter, Jennifer Leanne Jacobs; grandchildren, Duncan Merritt, Noah Jacobs, Benjamin Merritt, Abbey (Max) Steiner, Gracee Jacobs, Isabella Merritt; brother, David Nix; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
