Teena Maria Adkisson

April 20, 1977 — December 12, 2024

Louisville, Kentucky

Teena Maria Adkisson born April 20, 1977 and entered into Heaven on December 12, 2024.

She was brought home two weeks after birth and was adopted into a loving environment. She overcame a multitude of medical challenges yet it never dampened her spirit. As the baby of the family, she was loved and doted on. She loved puzzles and technology. She never met a stranger and leaves behind a multitude of friends.

She was preceeded in death by her father, Dennis “Penny” Adkisson, sisters Annetta Richard and Amy Absher, aunt, Linda Alford Adkisson, nephews Nicholas Turner and Tommy Richard and some favorite friends that have gone before her.

She is survived by her devoted mother and caretaker, Patricia “Pat” Adkisson, her sister Theresa (Paul) Morton, her brothers Donald Adkisson and Dennis “Denny” (Julie) Adkisson, brother in law, Tommy Richard, nephew, Michael (Lindsay) Spencer, many cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her.

Teena bravely and courageously fought stage four breast cancer for five years. After her diagnosis, she spent her remaining years checking items off her bucket list with her favorite friend, Missy. They loved attending live concerts and trips to the beach. She was an avid participant in bingo nights and pull tabs. She was a member of St. Thomas More and volunteered there in the children’s ministry. She was a die-hard University of Kentucky fan.

Per Teena's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date at St. Thomas More Parish.
