Ted B. Pearce, age 75, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, with his wife at his side and in the care of Hospice.
Ted was born on March 22, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa. He grew up in Crown Point, Indiana. He attended Crown Point High, he played football, basketball and was a saxophone player in the band. He is a graduate of Indiana University, class of 1972, with a degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Education. He had a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Louisville.
Ted began his career as a Biology Teacher and Assistant Principal at St. Xavier High School. He was an assistant football coach and the swim team coach, proudly taking his team to win numerous state championships.
Ted, then, went on to become the first Principal of the only co-ed Catholic High School in Jefferson County, Holy Cross.
In the following years, Ted was the Principal for Bullitt East and North Hardin High Schools and Vice Principal at Franklin County and South Oldham High Schools. He continued to teach Biology as an Administrator in all his Schools. In his career Ted was a natural born leader, confident and embraced new challenges.
After retirement Ted became a Highly Skilled Educator through which he mentored first year teachers and principals.
Ted's passion was the game of golf and played at every opportunity. He enjoyed watching golf, basketball and football. He was a die-hard Indiana University fan, and a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Ted was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, loved to travel in the U.S.A. and abroad, and his time at the beach in Florida. However, he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Ted had a tender, loving, caring, romantic and generous heart and a easy going nature.
Ted will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, June; his children, Jeff (Fairy), Mandy (Dean) Wallin; his brother, Tom (Vickie) and four grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ione Pearce.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Visitation begins at 10 am and Mass at 11 am at St. Aloysius Church (224 Abbott Street, Shepherdsville, KY 40165).
