Taylor Renee "Beans" Eubanks, 21, of Greenville, Indiana, was called home on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, after a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
She was born on August 5, 1993 in Louisville to James and Roxanne (Foster) Eubanks. Taylor is preceded in death by her grandmother, Eileen Eubanks, and aunt, Karen Bowley. Along with her parents, Taylor is survived by her brothers whom she loved so dearly, Patrick and Brandon; grandparents, Ted and Victoria Koehler; Earnest and Erika Eubanks; great grandmother, Alice Samuelson, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her beloved fur babies.
Taylor graduated as valedictorian from North Harrison High School in 2012 where she was also the senior class Vice-President and a member of the National Honor Society. An avid Louisville Cardinals fan, the happiest days of her life were spent with her sisters as a collegiate member of Pi Alpha Chapter at the University of Louisville where she was an Exercise Science major.
Taylor was known as a courageous, strong, brilliant woman who never stopped aspiring to be as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She touched the lives of everyone she met while reminding them to live in the moment and that "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away".
The family wishes to thank her sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, her University of Louisville family, and all the employees of Jewish Hospital who cared for Taylor and her parents these last months. The names are too numerous to list, but know that each and every one will never be forgotten. A very special thank you and immeasurable gratitude goes to Dr. Victor Van Berkel. He recognized a true fighter, never gave up on her, and walked along beside us until the very end.
Our ultimate praises are to God for giving everyone the opportunity to witness a true miracle on earth by sending Taylor's lung donor angel. We wanted a lifetime. . .but are so blessed that she was able to dance at her uncle's wedding, was able to hold her baby cousin, and live her life like she was never able to before.
We are so grateful for the 10 months that Taylor brought people closer together and showed them the true meaning of beauty and strength. . .the 305 days her father got to hold his daughter's hand and cheer on the Cards with his very best friend. . .the 7,320 hours that her bubbies didn't have to tell their baby sister goodbye forever. . .and in the final moment, God's answering a mother's prayer by having her baby open her big beautiful blue eyes and smile so lovingly as she ascended into heaven surrounded by her family.
Cremation was chosen per Taylor's wishes. A celebration of her life will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with several speakers throughout the service beginning at 6 PM.
