Tashia Nixon

Tashia Lanette Thomas-Nixon, age 63, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026. Tashia was a proud graduate of Butler Traditional High School, Class of 1978. She was known for her strength, love for family, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew her. She shared many devoted years with her longtime partner, Sandra “Redd” Patterson.

Tashia was also a dedicated employee of Workwell Industries, where she worked faithfully and built meaningful connections throughout her years of service.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Amber Mitchell, Celeste Smith (Marcus), and Cherelle Thomas; and her beloved grandchildren: JaNia, DeVante, MaKenzie, Chloe, JaKobe, and Maziyon, Sister, Netra (Andrew) Wiley, Brothers, Morris A. Thomas and Marcus Thomas, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Tashia’s love, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved.

She was born on June 5, 1962, in Louisville, Kentucky. Tashia was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Thomas and Mattie Lou Burt-Thomas; her brother, Morris “Dickie” Thomas; her sisters, Constance Wiley and Celeste “Rae” White; and her grandson, DaMoni “Moni” Smith.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy).
