Tamika Lashay Sweet

Tamika Lashay Sweet was born on January 31, 1987, in Louisville, Kentucky to Karla Sweet and Thaddeus Miller. On January 18, 2019, the Lord sent His angel to carry her home. She accepted Christ at an early age.

Tamika received her education in Jefferson County Public School Systems. In her spare time she loved going to BINGO and playing cards. Tamika loved being around family and friends. She was a fighter; she would do anything to protect her family and she had a giving heart. If Tamika could help anyone she would. She would liven up any party with her jokes. She was always smiling until someone made her mad. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her son, Davon Simmons; grandparents, Lena Sweet Buckner and James Buckner, Ernestine Miler, Manuel Harris; great grandparents, Willie and Bissie Gibson Sweet; aunts Kattie Miller, Teresa Miller and Gerdene Barker; uncles, Willie Sweet and Christpher Buckner.

Tamika leaves to cherish her memory her children, Karliya Sweet, Jamill Simmons, Thaddis Simmons and James Simmons; paretns, Karla Sweet and Thaddeus Miller; sister, Latasha (DeAuntay Shrivers) Sweet; great-grandmother, Bertha Buckner; a very special companion Thaddis Simmons; nephew, Armani Shrvers; niece, DeLena Shrivers and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, 26, 2019, at First Virginia Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 3601 Virginia Avneue, Louisville, KY from 10am-12pm with a celebration of Tamika's life beginning at 12pm.

Burial will follow at Louisville Cemetery, 1339 Poplar Level Rd, Louisville, KY 40217.
