Syrilda Joann Mitchell

Syrilda Joann Mitchell, 66, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on October 27, 2016. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany and loved traveling, walking, and especially spending time with her family.

She was born on July 3, 1950, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Rollin S. Mitchell, Jr., and Mary Agnes Mitchell. Syrilda is survived by her children, Delecia Mitchell (Will) and Sheagan Mitchell (Erica); siblings, Yolonda Mitchell (Dan), Inez Mitchell (Gary), Pamela (Mitchell) King (Desi), Terry Knight, Gloria (Mitchell) Proctor, Karen Mitchell, and Geno Mitchell (Laura); grandchildren, Tatum and Zaiden Nelson and Amya Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany (415 East 8th Street, New Albany) with cremation to follow according to Syrilda's wishes.
