Sylvia Springer, 84, of New Albany, Indiana, earned her wings on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. She was a retired bank teller and worked for McDonald's for some time. She was fond of the people she worked with and enjoyed meeting new people. Sylvia loved doing crossword puzzles and watching her favorite shows on TV, all while relaxing with a glass of wine and a cigarette.

She was born on January 30, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Solomon and Dolores Reina Rodriguez. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Robert and Scott Springer; sister, Herlinda Gomez; brother, Solomon Rodriguez, Jr.; and sister, Carlene Rodriguez.

Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Freddie) Chavez and Sherilynn (Jay) Briles; grandchildren, Deanna Springer, Nicole Springer, Noelle Herzog, Jason Shanley, Adrian Ramos, Anthony Ramos, Natalie Hernandez, Mariah Archuleta, Lorrin Ramos, Michael Springer, and Zachary Springer; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her faithful brown dog, Chevy.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Cremation was chosen following Sylvia's wishes.
