Sylvia Pearl (Clark) Getrost

Sylvia Pearl (Clark) Getrost, 93, of Greenville passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Sylvia was a member of Greenville Christian Church and enjoyed dancing and going to the movies in her younger years. She loved being with her family and enjoyed going for rides through the country with her children and talking about the "good ole' days."

Sylvia was born on March 20, 1927, in New Albany to the late Vernon and Hazel (Montgomery) Clark. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Robert and Charles Steven Getrost; and brother, Robert Montgomery.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Gary (Theresa) Getrost; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane) and will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. By the family's request, her Funeral Service will be held privately with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenville, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Sylvia's memory be made to Guerin Woods Senior Center (8037 Unruh Drive, Georgetown, IN 47122).
