Sydonna Sue Wilson passed away on October 21, 2026, at the age of 70.
Born on September 30, 1956, in Maysville, Kentucky, Sue grew up in Norwood, Ohio, where she attended Norwood High School. In her younger years, she shared many happy times with her family, including trips to Cincinnati Reds games and traveling together, turning ordinary days into adventures through the simple joy of being with the people she loved. In 1972, her family moved to Louisville, where she continued her education at Eastern High School and graduated in 1975.
After high school, Sue lived in Atlanta for a short time before returning to Louisville. Back home, she met Stephen, and together they welcomed her two sons, Stephen and Skyler, who remained at the heart of her life.
Sue worked in a number of restaurant and retail positions over the years, including Concord Custom Cleaners, the former Chevron in Middletown, and Party Outlet. She brought her own spirit to every place she worked and to the many people who knew her along the way.
She enjoyed the things that made life fun and familiar. Sue loved cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats and the Cincinnati Bengals. She enjoyed listening to her favorite band, The Eagles, and spending time with her favorite television shows, from soap operas and TV dramas to Wheel of Fortune. She was fun-loving, had a great sense of humor, and was always enjoyable to be around. Her laugh will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bonnie Hamilton; her brother, David Hamilton; and her former spouse, Stephen D. Wilson.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen C. Wilson and Skyler Wilson and his wife, Toria. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Chuck Hamilton and his wife, Angie, Elizabeth Jane Radmacher, and Douglas Hamilton, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply and remember her with affection.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A Celebration of Life will follow there at 4:00 p.m. There will be a private burial taking place on Monday, November 2nd.
Sue’s memory lives on in the laughter she shared, the teams she cheered for, the music she loved, and the family she held dear. She will be remembered with love.
