Suzanne Elizabeth Long, born on February 14, 1947, in Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family. She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication.
A graduate of St. Vincent's Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana, Suzanne pursued her passion for psychology, earning both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern New Mexico University. Her career in counseling was marked by her unwavering commitment to helping others, as she provided guidance through her private practice.
Throughout her life, Suzanne engaged actively in her community. As a long-time Girl Scout leader, she devoted herself to nurturing young minds and instilling values of service and respect. Her time spent serving at church further reflected her desire to encourage and uplift those around her. Suzanne was known for her kind heart, always ready with a prayer for anyone in need.
In addition to her professional and volunteer work, Suzanne enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She loved making crafts, baking delightful treats, and cherishing moments spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren—Tori, Matthew, and William. Recently, she found joy in having coffee and playing bingo with her friends, enriching her life with laughter and companionship.
Suzanne was deeply proud of her faith and the values she upheld as an individual. A patriotic American, she expressed her pride as an Air Force Brat, carrying the legacy of her upbringing with honor and respect.
She is survived by her children: Tessa Long, Michael Long (Holli), and Aleishia Wolf; her grandchildren, Tori, Matthew, and William; her great granddaughter, Michelle; her sister, Karen Deeter; and her brothers, Tim and Jim Humphrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee J. Humphrey and Shirley Humphrey, and her brother, David Humphrey.
The visitation will take place on March 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM both held at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. Burial will at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville.
