Suzanne Mary (Johnson) Hopkins

Suzanne Mary (Johnson) Hopkins, passed away on June 8, 2026. She was born on November 26, 1937, in Ogilvie, Minnesota.

Suzanne’s love of travel was a defining aspect of her character, with a special fondness for Israel. She treasured the opportunity to immerse herself in its rich culture, which enriched her understanding and brought her immense joy. Beyond her travels, Suzanne was committed to a healthy lifestyle, embracing jogging and mindful eating, reflecting a lifelong dedication to wellness. She also enjoyed the chance to play some Keno at the casino in her free time.

Suzanne enjoyed cooking her specialty dishes for her family, which became a legacy she lovingly passed on to her grandchildren. Along with her cooking, her love for reading was another passion she instilled in her grandchildren.

Suzanne is survived by her children: Chris (Julie) Hopkins, Cindy (Steven) Bowe, Carolyn (Jim) Miller, and Craig David Hopkins. She took great pride in her grandchildren: Conor Hopkins, Brittany Hopkins, Jacob (Jen) Bowe, Evan (Morgan) Bowe, Erin Bowe, Charisa (Ben) Esselman, Ellie Hopkins, and Daniel Hopkins; and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte Esselman. She is also remembered by her brother, Boyd (Joanne) Johnson; as well as her sisters-in-law, Florence Johnson and Phyllis Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Johnson and Maxine White Johnson; and her brothers, Lowell Johnson and Lawrence Johnson.

Suzanne will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Rosary service will be at 6:30 pm on Monday, at the funeral home, and visitation will continue until 8:00 pm.
