Susie Patricia (Long) Lehmann

Susie Patricia (Long) Wilkins Lehmann, 75, of Salem, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019. Susie was an avid reader of her dear friend Sherri Wingler's books. She enjoyed making flowers for family weddings and cakes for birthdays. Susie was selfless to a fault, always willing to give the shirt off of her back and help others. She was always known as the neighborhood "mom."

She was born on November 28, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late James and Susie (Cundiff) Long. Susie was also preceded in death by her first husband, Chester "Gunner" Wilkins; siblings, James "Junior" Long, Marty "Gene" Long, Paul Long, Charles "Abe" Long, Betty Walcott, and Jarrell E. "Joe" Long; and great-grandson, Gavin Wilkins.

Susie is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Lehmann, Sr.; children, Sandra Wilkins, James "Pete" Wilkins (Renee), Susan "Shug" McManus (Gary Combs), Donald Wilkins, Sr. (Jacqueline), Mary Wilkins, Patricia Been (Bryan), Trina Wilkins (Bryan Dodson), and Jimmy Angel (Mary Ann); siblings, Phillip Long and Mary Shake; 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
