It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susanne "Sue" Harris, age 78, of Fairdale, Kentucky, who left this world on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Sue was not just a name; she was a beacon of love and warmth in the lives of many. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, nana, aunt, and friend whose caring spirit touched everyone she met. With a fulfilling career as a dedicated nurse for over 20 years, Sue exemplified compassion and commitment, fostering hope and healing in her patients. Notably, she made her mark as a top female driver in Harness Racing and for two consecutive years was driver of the year. She also showcased her talents as a skillful horse trainer.
Outside of her professional life, Sue found joy in the simple pleasures. Whether tending to her beloved garden, preparing delicious meals for her family, or passionately cheering for her University of Louisville Cardinals, her vibrant spirit shone through. Known for her sense of humor, humility, and straightforwardness, Sue's magnetic personality left an indelible impression on everyone lucky enough to cross her path.
Born on March 12, 1947, in Garden City, Michigan, Sue was the cherished daughter of Warren and Carol (Campeau) Harris. She now rejoins her mother, Carol McIlmurray, and father, Warren Harris, in eternal peace.
