Susan Ann Bartley, a devoted fiancé, loving mother, cherished nanny, sister, and daughter, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026. Born on September 20, 1969, in Clarksville, Indiana, Susan lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering love for her family.
Susan was a loving homemaker whose warmth and care were the heart and soul of her home. For 35 years, she was the devoted fiancé of Jamie Tuttle, sharing a deep bond filled with love and commitment. She was a loving mother to Kayla Marie Tuttle and also embraced the role of nanny to her beloved granddaughters, Destinie Faythe Bartley, Lyddia Jazzlynn Dann Bartley, and Aliyah Storm Bartley. Susan’s family extended beyond her immediate household, including her sister Teresa Lynn Bartley, her parents Jim and Janet Swindler, step siblings Jimmy Swindler and Jennifer Lockhart, and half sister Melissa Jenkins, cousin, Ricki Hall, all of whom will carry her memory with deep affection. Her life was also surrounded by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all touched by her gentle spirit.
Susan’s life was enriched not only by her family but also by her passions and faith. She was an active member of City Church International in Louisville, where she dedicated much of her time through volunteer work. It was at City Church International that she found spiritual grounding and was baptized, a testament to her strong faith and community commitment.
A woman of gentle joys, Susan delighted in cooking and baking, filling her home with comforting aromas and nourishing meals that brought her family together. Prior to her illness, she found great pleasure in tending to the birds, a tender pastime that reflected her nurturing nature and love for the simple beauties of life.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Holly Nicole Bartley, her grandmother Katherine Broady Elder, grandfather Claude Broady, uncle Roy Broady, aunt Judy Hall, and cousin Roger Hall. Their memories and spirit remain entwined with Susan’s, a testament to the family bonds that surrounded her throughout her life.
A visitation to honor Susan will be held on Sunday, April 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. Following this, a graveside service will take place on Monday, April 13th , at 2:00 p.m. at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Hwy 60, Borden, IN 47106.
Susan Ann Bartley’s life was a beautiful mosaic of love, faith, and devotion. Though she has departed from this world, her generous heart, tender spirit, and the love she so freely gave will continue to inspire all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and grace, forever cherished in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
