Sue J. Yates

Sue J. Yates, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Sue was a very loving, caring, and giving person. her favorite hobby was reading her books, playing trivia pursuit, and watching jeopardy. Sue will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was born on January 20, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky to John and Mary (Kingery) Shirley. She is preceded in death by her Father, John Edward Shirley, Jr., Mother, Mary Elizabeth Able, Son, Daniel Yates, Daughter, Linda Yates, Grandson, Charile Yates, Siblings, Lina Jacobs, Barney Shirley, and Eula Hazel.

Sue is survived by her loving family, Children, Mary Y. (Michael) Hart, Sandra Y. (Herman) Raeber, and Raymond S. Yates; Grandchildren, Robert Yates, Brandi Yates, Jessica Yates, Kristina Bryant, and Jennifer Hale; 5 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Siblings, Fuston (Dora) Shirley, Diana Shirley, and Charles Shirley, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 6:00 pm on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
