Steven A. Sturgeon

Steven A. Sturgeon, 72, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, was born on October 10, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana, and passed away on March 21, 2026.

For 23 years, Steve devoted his career to Wooded View Golf Course where he served as the shop manager, a role in which he excelled and left a lasting impact on the community. His expertise was not limited to his professional responsibilities; those who knew him admired his remarkable ability to fix anything, a testament to his resourcefulness and practical wisdom. Steve was also a devoted fan of the University of Kentucky. Above all, golf was Steven's greatest passion-a game that he cherished and embraced throughout his life.

Central to Steve’s life was his family, with whom he shared profound bonds. He was dearly loved by his wife, Paula Cravens Sturgeon, with whom he spent over 40 cherished years. Together, they built a life filled with mutual support and affection. Their son, Jeremy Cravens, was another source of great pride and joy for Steve. He also leaves behind his brother, Marc Thomas, and his wife, Roxie.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Anne (Warren) Sturgeon; and his brother, Edwin Shull Sturgeon.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will follow at 6:30 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Steve's wishes.
