Steven Arthur Strulson, 83, a devoted veteran, dedicated family man, and steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew him, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026. Born on June 12, 1943, in the Bronx, New York, Steven lived a life marked by determination, conviction, and deep affection for his loved ones.
Steven was a proud Korean War veteran who served his country with honor and commitment. Following his military service, he built a notable career at General Electric, where he worked from 1966 until 1985. His professional journey reflected the same steadfastness and principles that defined his character.
A fervent sports enthusiast, Steven was a lifelong supporter of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the University of Louisville. His passion for these teams was unwavering, and he rarely missed an opportunity to watch a game and cheer them on, embodying the spirit of loyalty in every sense.
Known for his strong personality and sharp honesty, Steven lived life on his own terms, often expressing unwavering opinions with a candor that left a lasting impression. Though sometimes seen as stubborn, his love for his family was resolute. He took great pride in being an active and present figure in their lives, valuing the traditions and consistencies that anchored his relationships.
Steven's family remembers him as a man who treasured the bonds they shared. He is survived by his sons, Donald Strulson and Lonnie Cahill; daughter Trish (George) Nolbertowicz; grandchildren Connie (Alejandro) Araujo, Joshua Strulson, and Taylor (Patrick) Garvin; as well as eleven great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Nadine Donofrio, and a wide circle of extended family members who mourn his loss and celebrate his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Mary Strulson, whose memory he honored throughout his life.
Those wishing to pay their respects may attend a graveside service held in his honor on May 29, 2026, beginning at 12:30 PM, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky. The service will conclude at 1:00 PM, offering a moment for family and friends to gather and reflect on the profound impact Steven had on their lives.
