Steven Thomas Rogers, a skilled welder and proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on July 5, 2025, in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Born on June 26, 1973, Steven was a beloved baseball coach, whose impact resonated in the lives of the youth he coached. He was a diligent worker in the construction industry, earning respect and admiration for his skills and work ethic.
An alumnus of Southern High School, Steven cherished the memories of his education and the friendships he cultivated during those formative years. He possessed a vibrant personality that was characterized by his hardworking nature, combined with a sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. Steven was known for his kindness and generosity, qualities that endeared him to many.
In addition to his career, Steven was an avid sports enthusiast. His passion for softball, baseball, and golf mirrored his love for video games. A huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and the University of Kentucky Wildcats, he enjoyed watching games and celebrating victories with friends and family. His pride shone brightest as a Father. His biggest enjoyment came from watching his son Grant grow, which stood out as one of his proudest accomplishments.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Rogers.
Steven is survived by his son, Grant (Lila); alongside a cherished family that includes his aunts, Judy (Mike) Moore, Terri Durben, Brenda Boatright, and Debbie Mudd; as well as many loving cousins and friends.
A memorial gathering to honor Steven’s life will be held on July 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in East Louisville, Kentucky. Friends and family are encouraged to gather to celebrate the remarkable life of a man who left a meaningful legacy through his contributions to his community and the love he shared with those around him.
