Mr. Steven Lee Mason Sr. was born September 13, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana son of the late Charles Mason and Gloria Mae Chambers.
The third of four children, he attended Indianapolis Public Schools and Arsenal Technical High School, accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and baptized in Him at Indianapolis, IN and Louisville, KY.
Steve proudly served his country in the United States Army. Career employment as a presser with Tuchman and Classic Cleaners in Indianapolis, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. He also enjoyed employment as a events usher and security guard.
Steven always had a smile, took the greatest pleasure in being with his family. He also loved playing cards, grilling, fishing, dominoes with special friends, working on and repairing cars which he always taught you while he repaired your car. Affectionately teased as Billy Dee, Uncle Weebie and Uncle NuNu he was always down to earth and never met a stranger. He will be missed dearly by all he has touched; but we know he is in a better place.
Stevie was preceded in death by his parents, Howard L. Mason and Eva Stewart; brothers Michael and Darryl; son, Kevin Mason; and grandson, Michael Mason.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving longtime companion Terry Ormond. Loving sons: Steven (Sarah) Mason, Jr., Harold Jermaine Mason, James Mason, Joseph Harbor, Christopher Harbor; Aaron and Jamie Ormond. Sisters, Charlene, Donna, Sheila (Ervin), Kathleen Watson; brother, George; Aunt: Deborah Williams (Sterling), Uncle: Fred Chambers; Grandchildren, Cameron (Maya), Joseph, Cheyenne, and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Ehva, Dru, and Theo; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, relatives and close friends.
